Yep, Erik and I are going to hold a little competition. First of all, make sure you go download Qubicle. Pick up the free basic edition, and get ready to start making your very own voxel weaponry.
Next, I’ve created a template for you guys to work with. I also made a sample pistol, and created a G36C. Pick it up here.
While that’s downloading, make sure you watch some tutorials to figure out how to navigate the program. Don’t worry, it’s very easy and user friendly. Here are a few to get you started: Qubicle tutorials.
Once you’ve tried your hand, make sure to render out a screenshot of your creation and send the picture to me via Twitter.
I look forward to seeing what the community comes up with!
Thanks guys!
Re-thinking the game.
Hey guys, it’s Kane here. I just wanted to touch base with everyone again. We’ve made some strategic changes in the game plan. So as some of you know, I recently lost my day job. (nothing I could have done, the company went under)
Although it’s unfortunate, two major changes have happened because of it regarding DeadHope. The first being that I can no longer fund our awesome modeler Peter. And the second is that I now have an abundance of time for DeadHope.
So I am tasked to find a medium that won’t cost me an arm and a leg, but I’ll still enjoy. So Erik and I decided to re-visit his old plan of using Voxels. Minecraft is a very popular and well known Voxel game, but rest assured the two games will bear zero resemblance. There will be a heavy emphasis in creativity, multiplayer, and community contribution. I’m sticking with what I said months ago,
This is a game for gamers, made by gamers.
And so with that, I’ll leave you with this little preview. You can see our character template, as well as a little pistol I made. Stay tuned, I’m going to hand over the voxel editor to you guys so you can show me what you can make!
Also, the CC is Creative Commons. It means don’t steal the stuff Erik and I work hard on! Self explanatory, but required.
Thanks Everyone!
